I adore this picture book, Give Back, written by Gina Bellisario and illustrated by Alicia Más. Giving Tuesday is a particularly wonderful day to highlight it! I love the warm, endearing, joy-filled illustrations with pops of vivid purple throughout the book. With its beautiful message and rhyming, rhythmic flow, this book is especially fun to share at story times.

Thoughtful and compassionate neighbors give back by putting together a community meal and a drive that includes food, clothes, and toys. Readers are reminded of the endless ways we can help each other, with material things or otherwise. We can donate toys we want to share, we can give coats to warm people, and we can buy food to fill people’s bellies. Others ways we can give is by volunteering our time, smiling at someone to let them know they are seen and cared about, giving a hug to those who are comfortable getting them. This book inspires readers to give what they can, that it matters, and that acts of kindness come back to us.
